From a pro hockey roster to elite golf
Parker handles client assessments, programming, and coaching at Scottsdale Golf Performance.
Before golf he was Head of Strength and Conditioning for the Tucson Roadrunners, assessing, programming, and developing players who went on to professional careers. Running strength for a professional club means carrying a full roster through a long season with games every few days, which is a different discipline from writing one program at a time. It’s also where he built his habit of tracking everything, using sports science data and performance monitoring that he now applies to golfers.
His bachelor's is in Exercise Science from Lindenwood, with a strength and conditioning concentration, and he holds the CSCS. His master's is in Applied Sports Psychology from Adams State, which is a useful pairing in this sport. Golf is played slowly, mostly solo, with a great deal of time between shots to think. The physical side is only part of what ends up on the card.
Parker is a Colorado native and an avid golfer who is still working on his own game, which means he understands from the inside what it feels like when the body will not do what the swing is asking for.

WHAT I WORK ON
Managing load across a season
Hockey taught me how to keep a body going through a schedule that never really stops. Arizona golf isn’t far off. The training has to build you up without leaving you flat for the round you actually care about.
Better players
Anyone can move well when they’re fresh and nobody is watching. I’m more interested in what your body does on the last few holes, so I program fatigue and load into the work rather than testing you only at your best.
Tracking the numbers
I came from an environment where everything was measured, and I brought the habit with me. If a program is working we should be able to see it in your testing, not just feel like it’s going well.
